Silver or
gold leaf is typically applied in squares just like these. The metal can be real or faux -- it matters not to the craftsmanship and the effect, and shouldn't bear on the value, in my opinion.

Is it not Guy Lefevre...
Is it not Guy Lefevre without a B....also I wouldn't take it as fact that it is by that designer just because its on 1stdibs, I would do more research online and also submit images of it to some of the French auction house like Cornette de saint Cyr or Tajan and get them to ID and value it for you.

Thanks very much for your answers ! It's not guy lefevre for me too.. the legs of the table dont seems to be a guy lefevre work, but probably a Jansen table...

yes you're right
yes you're right.. it is the same on 1st..but sometimes the identification by the sealer is wrong...I've already seen chair identificated willy rizzo and it was not him! there is no lefevre table that look like mine on the net ..

I must admit that in my opinion this table his absolutely horribly ugly.
The gold just makes me remember the early 90's when everyone had black furniture with gold accents. Also this table looks as if it has been residing in a fraternity for the past 10 years. What value it might have just seems it would be gone plus I just dont see why anyone would but that for any considerable amount of money. I know I might be the only one who says it but I just cant resist any longer.
