Hello -
I was wondering if someone might be able to help me out. I have a sofa that I'm trying to ID, and a couple of people have suggested it might be a Hans Wegner design (I've placed a few photos at the link below). I've been able to date it to the late 1960's, and it bears a metal Danish Furnituremakers' Control tag at the bottom. While the shape is very similar to at least 2 other Wegner sofas I've seen, I haven't been able to confirm anything.
Thanks for any help or info!
Illum Wikkelsoe
I may be running a little risk here but I would say that based on the Furniture index records the sofa is
Illum Wikkkelsø
for Hjørring furniture
1958

Sofa base
Thanks for the feedback - I actually don't think the base that's currently on the sofa is the original base (I've added yet another picture to the website - you can see where there are notches above the legs in the bottom of the sofa, above the existing base).
Simon, would you mind re-posting the web address you cited? For some reason I can't get to it (it seems to have gotten cut off). You can send it to me directly if you like (dviator@next7designs.com). Thanks!

found this on Ebay.

That's it!
That's our sofa exactly (minus the purplish fabric), right down to the base (which I now suppose is the right base after all). Thanks so much for sending that link!
I see that the one on eBay sold for somewhere around $250US - does this seem a little low? I know it had some damage to the upholstery.
