Hope someone can help - I have owned a few of these beautiful chairs over the years but have come across something I would like to learn more about. Are the early chairs stamp marked in the arms like the later 1960s/70s FDB examples? I seem to recall seeing an unmarked chair which was certainly 'correct' in my opinion and have just acquired one in brown without any apparent markings that was originally bought in the 1950s. Any help appreciated!

Now I'm curious too
I have a later one in lacquered beech with the incised mark on the underside of one arm. I love it. I got it for $15 at auction and was SO excited.
I don't think I've ever seen any early ones, though.

I don't know if this helps at all, but I just stripped down two Wegner CH23 chairs that need new woven seats and they don't have any marks at all. None. I thought I'd find something under the cord but I didn't. They are very, very early--brought here by someone who emigrated from Denmark in the 50s.
Surely someone knows if early Wegner chairs in general were not marked?
Also, the ones I have are very dark with age, though of course they are oak and teak and not beech like the rockers. Do you know what wood your rocker is?
