Here's another query relating to Hans Olsen / Frem Rojle tables....
I've had one of these for a couple of years (a teak table with chairs that have 3 legs) and I've just acquired another (a rosewood-topped table with chairs that have 4 legs). I have to decide which to keep...
Can anyone provide me with some info about the rosewood table? When were they made and are they particularly unusual? Is the rosewood top a veneer or a solid piece of wood? Was the top varnished or lacquered? And what is the wood of the rest of the table (and chairs) -- teak?
Many thanks!!
Keep the 4 legged version
keep the 4 legged version. The chairs are a bit more comfortable plus you dont run the risk of tipping over everytime you lean over to grab something. Problem with the 4 legged version is that the chairs never seem to pop up if you ever need an extra/replacement.
table
I've got to figure out how to upload photos! Yes, it has to be veneer but what surprised me is that it's in such great shape. The lacquer on the main table top has completely worn off (it's still on the extension flap)but there's been no chipping of the veneer. I need to find a cost-effective way of getting the the top sanded and re-lacquered. I guess that's what I should do....

"Rosewood" top
Thanks for the instructions detailing how to post photos.
Looking back on previous posts, I came across one fom 2008 in which Simon suggested that Hans Olsen "rosewood" tables are actually teak stained to give a rosewood effect. I'll attempt to provide some photos of my table to see if someone has an opinion of what I have.
