Hi Everyone,
I`m hoping to pick your collective brains on this Hans Olsen dining set I bought.
I have been scouring the internet for more detailed information on this piece but it is hard to come by.
The cofusion lies with the materials. I have several MCM Teak pieces at home, but the timber used on the table top surfice of this Olsen piece appears to be a lot darker and I think it may be Rosewood, did Olsen produce these with Rosewood tops?
Please see the links for photos.
I think the previous owner has used a dark stain on the wood which is making it harder to identify.
I would also like to know what material was used in the dark inlays where the top of the chair leg meets the backrest. I have read this could either be rosewood or ebony.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Teak
Hi there
The table you have is teak with a dark stain on to make it look like rosewood.
This table set was not to my knowledge made in rosewood but instead in teak and burma teak. The use of burma teak on the chairs and plinth was to give a contrast to the redish teak.
As for the inlay ther are of more humble origins
Plastic on the ones I have seen.
I moght be getting a set of restoration so will look closer when I start the work.
Simon
