This model has been around for a long time. As far as I know it is still in production. We have loads of them where I work, but the office support guys have no idea where they came from.

Out of your own...
back yard so to speak...This was a IKEA standard for many years and the ones we bought 30 years ago are still as good as the one on the picture.

You see these plywood...
You see these plywood hangers a lot here but I don't know who's responsible for the original design. In Germany you can buy "Schichtholzkleiderbügel" from various suppliers (google helps):

edit:
koen: good to know, they are way superior to the ones they sell now!

Haha, there goes. IKEA was actually the first place I checked, but they did not have it. So it is out of production, after all. I was hoping to replace my 50 odd hangers. I really had my mind set on these and have spent hours looking for them online and in various stores. I would probably have spent many more had I not gotten any response here. Thank you!

claus, thanks. I will most likely have to source them from ebay, so it is very useful to know what they are called in German. I also have a bunch of old ones, some with the names of old shops printed on them. It would be interesting to know their origin. Does anyone know of other bent wood hangers?
