That table
has been "rode hard and put up wet". And, I know all of the people on this forum who are not from America are probably now shaking their heads and going "what?" That particular American expression used to refer to a horse in the Wild West. Now, as you can probably guess, it has been expanded to include women who look a little worse for the wear.
As for that table, I think the owner is on drugs that he/she thinks that they are going to get 300 USD as a starting bid.
Statistically...
Statistically speaking...you're probably right Riki. If the nations drinking water (not sure about Europeans) has "left over" pharmaceuticals in them, there's more people on drugs than not. "Reality is the curse of the sane". Don't recall the author of that quote.
Your quote raised my eyebrow for a moment! After a google search...I get it. It's referring to something mistreated and/or with passing use.
I
agree. The typography would be definitive. It would be good to see other known vintage Risom labels. . .
As to the condition of the object, this is a classic case of "don't repair it yourself." It is now too late for a clean repair, which might have been possible initially. This situation roughly corresponds to the tendency for tired original architecture to be "updated" prior to sale, thus eradicating any hope for the new owner to make his own decisions about restoration.
That desk looks like the...
That desk looks like the other 16 POS desks at the Goodwill in my neighborhood. Condition aside, I've never seen a Risom desk without legs. I checked the Danish Furniture Index ( http://kunstindustrimuseet.dk/furnitureindex) and didn't see any reference to anything remotely looking like that desk.
