I was wondering if anyone had a trick to remove the chair glides from herman miller chairs. I have aprox 50 bases that I want to remove the glides from. In the past I have always cut the legs off and then pushed them out from the inside, but when I have a chair I just want to replace a glide on I end up switching the base with one that already has 4 on it. I just have a horrible time trying to get them out.

drill
I used to just drill them. If there's anything left of the swivel foot, break it off with a pliers. Then use a drill bit that's about the same as the ID of the leg tubing. Drill into riven and nylon insert. Once through the insert, you can use a drift to push the remaining retainer part of the foot farther into the tube, so that there's enough space to drive in the new foot.
