Wow.
I just had a seizure.
This is probably not the most appropriate forum for teen decor... My recommendation is to keep it simple... But I'm old (34!!!), so what do I know.

My eyes! my eyes!
Gads, that first one is painful, the others aren't much better. Sorry, NN, but I don't think you'll get a lot of help on these from us modernist types. We like calm design. not frantic!

You should...
Make your room all white, with the exception of the bed spread.

It's 'cheap'.
Or is 'cheep!' a screaming teen word for Ikea.
I like it. Toss it all together and have fun. Most major cities have donation sites
that have materials for free. Including paint if you want to do it yourself.
I just donated 300 gallons to this NYC location. http://www.mfta.org/
Like Olive, i've matured a bit, but i did have a loft that was described as
'Pee Wee meets Lost in Space'. Makes no sense but it was fun...
I do think it is a healthy creative outlet to mix some wild textures at home.
Especially when young and experimenting.

I love PeeWee Herman!
We have the entire series on DVD and when I need somehing relaxing and mindless to stare at it always does the trick. So funny, even 20 years later and loaded with such a cast of character....I mean Lawrence Fishburne as a dorky cowboy for heaven's sake.
Life needs silly, whimsical, childish things. I love stuff like that...just not in design!

patterns can be modern--
google "the eames house"--look for pictures of what Ray and Charles Eames did with patterns and textures.....

[think Jack Benny]
. . .if the *Eameses* did it. . .
Nice responses, people. Everybody needs a real design challenge once in a while !

How about
BLACK AND WHITE ?
Will Bradley -- America's answer to Beardsley, and Mackintosh, all in one !
I got these images from the inexpensive book linked below, which I have had for decades. Nice stuff. Give you eyes and mind a color-break, and indulge in pattern ?
