Can anybody tell me if the Eames DKR wire chair ever get issued with the heavy black H base? Found one today and everything really looks like it was made this way and not bastardized at some point.
Sorry I didn't get a pic; I was walking with the 6 mo. old and couldn't get to the camera.

I have three Eames wire...
I have three Eames wire chairs all with H bases. 2 came from a yard sale (painted forest green) and a third from the garbage (black). I have absolutely no reason to believe this is not how they originally came. I use them in an outdoor clearing along with a Barwa chair and a hammock.
