I cannot tell a lie--
I've always had a soft spot for Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". (ANY song that references Lake Gitchee Gumee, for that matter.)
My husband-- who has otherwise pretty flawless taste in music-- has a secret vice: "Night Shift" by The Commodores. (My guilty pleasure is being married to a man who has "Night Shift" on his Ipod.)
Weird Al Yankovic's all right by me too.

"Old "Truckin'" music, especi...
"Old "Truckin'" music, especially Red Sovine. I like old Country and Western like Porter Wagoner, Slim Whitman, George Jones, Hank Thompson, and Roger Miller, but I have a special place in my heart for "Truckin'" music. Made for, by, or about long haul truck drivers from the 1950s through the "CB era" of the 1970s. Nothing like listening to "Teddy Bear" or "Phantom 309" late at night on a long road trip."
Hey, nothing wrong with that - love me some ol' truckin music too, the likes of Red Sovine, Willis Brothers, Red Simpson - Dick Curless being a particular favorite...
OK, whitespike...you know I luvya, but...
yep, your list is giving me the creeps! 😉 I now have a indelible vision in my head of you sitting under your deer head, putting ketchup on fish (sacrilege) whilst thoroughly stoned and staring at the TV.
I feel much better about my TaterTots now...which btw, I eat without ketchup and often whilst watching SpongeBob!
Guilty
From best to worst:
4. Peanutbutter & banana smoothies...which have 1000cal/serving.
3. Watching 'Cops' on a saturday night.
2. Watching 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.' And yes, I ALWAYS cry.
1. Should someone poke through my iTunes they would find music by the Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Hanson, and American Idol... I downloaded and paid for all of them.
Just to take this right back...
Just to take this right back to the start of the thread, Olive I don`t think early Bond films should arouse a feeling of guilt.
I have been wondering when and where my appreciation of MCM styles began and I think I can trace it back to watching the early bond films as a kid.
I think Ken Adam, the set designer for the bond films is a greatly undervalued genius and I don`t think he gets the recognition he deserves.
Sure Bond films are cheesey, but they are just oozing style, and that is thanks to Adam. He also designed `The War Room` in Dr Strangelove, an absolute visual treat.
If you are as much as a Bond geek as I am you will have clocked the little details like the Finn Juhl chairs appearing for a few frames during Goldfinger.
Ken Adam, I salute you...........I may be the only one but I salute you.
I am completely with you!
Octopussy was on TV here last night. Not one of my favs, but still, HAD to watch. I definitely do credit the early Bond movies with starting me on the path to modernism. Now-a-days, I regularly look for an yell out the names of designs I see in them, druves my hubby nutso. It's amazing how many more I can identify over the years.
I agree about Ken Adams, I shall salute right along with you!
They ARE cheesy...but I still love them!
