I used Google Goggles the other day to identify an unknown building in a photo. It scanned the pic (from a computer screen, no less), plotted its points and came back to me in seconds flat with a spot-on id. I was impressed to say the least. Someone else told me later, this *could* be a step towards the end of metadata... not sure metadata will ever totally go away on the internet, but I can see how this could cut down a lot, a picture being worth a thousand words and all that...
