I'm visiting NY's Financial District. Can anyone recommend any good stores in the area that sell mid-century modern pieces?

I'm boot strappin' onto this thread
Hope you don't mind, Brent.
I'm going to be in NY this Friday through next Wed. Like Brent, I am interesting store suggestions that specialize in mid-century modern home furnishings, new and vintage.
Also, any particular street where I can hit a bunch of modern/contemporary home furnishing places at once, as well as yummy places to eat. A friend of mind said to check out ABC Home?

Lots of Stuff Downtown
There's nothing I know of in the "Financial District," but Manhattan's a pretty small island, and most of the vintage mid-century stores are below 14th Street. Here are a few easily accessible places (from anywhere in the city), and you can find the exact address on the internet via Google.
R20th Century on Franklin Street;
Mondo Cane on Duane Street;
Donzella on White Street;
Lost City Arts on Lafayette Street;
Regeneration Furniture on Renwick Street (they also have a presence on ABC Carpet's 2nd floor, like Las Venus);
Las Venus on Ludlow Street.
Also, there's an appointment-only place called Wyeth, somewhere in Tribeca, that's super, super fancy (with attitude to boot).
The top (3rd floor) of the "Antiques Center" on 25th Street (between 5th/Broadway and 6th Avenue) also has a bunch of mid-century stuff.
There are also many places in Brooklyn, esp in Williamsburg (Two Jakes, e.g.) or around Atlantic Avenue (Gilpin Robbins, e.g.), but I'm not as familiar with those.
Finally, I think you just missed out, but Sothebys, Christies, and Phillips just had big 20th Century auctions recently, and the previews are a good time & place to check out rarely seen stuff. Christies this past weekend, e.g., had some unbelievalbe 50s Italian stuff.
good huntin', and have fun!

I'm going shopping
Thanks, ycl. That's a great list. DavidDC, just don't buy the best MCM pieces before I get to NY. I live in Mississippi where "mid-century" simply means the corner drugstore. Or police training.

NYC modern
I was just in NYC this past weekend so I had done a ton of research looking for shops. We only ended up going to Lost City Arts (AMAZING) and Las Venus & Las Venus 2 (right around the corner from each other).
Here is the list of stores I found, in no particular order and no guarantee that they all still exist. There are plenty more as well as replica stores such as DWR and Modernica.
