I have a set of four of these stools and have followed their pricing on eBay and Liveauctioneers for the last couple of years.
In general, I find that the average price per stool falls in the $400-500 range, with larger groups carrying the higher premium. Therefore, $2000 for four in good condition would be a fair price in my book. If you look hard enough, and don't mind putting single stools together than may need reupholstering, you should be able to find some for around $300 per stool.
For stool options, there are two sizes. The most common is the bar height, which has the rosewood footstep in the front. There is also the lower counter height version, which has no footrest. While the listing noted that the stools were counter height, the photo showed bar height stools.
For vintage wood options, the more common version has solid teak framing with a rosewood step. The higher-end version is all rosewood. If you see this stool design in walnut, light-colored wood, or with exposed fastening screws on the frame, then they are recent unauthorized reproductions.
