I saw at the local antique shop an original Swan Chair with Fritz Hansen sticker beneath. It was covered in a cream Hopsack(no stains),which was not my fave color. It had that little metal peg on the post.Anyhow, condition not bad at all, albeit the foam felt a bit crunchy.I was wondering if the $900.asking price was a good deal?

i am going to answer this question since i get calls all the time about swan chairs.
I own two
in my living room , if it does have the tilt mechanism it is worth at least 125.00 more than the other chairs that do not, but that price for 900.00 is a little steep as it will cost you around 900.00 to recover it with fabric. once they go crunchy they need to be redone, I personally think it is great that you want a original fritz Hansen swan and I would never ever buy a reproduction on that chair, If you had 1800 in a original Swan that would not be that bad of a deal as one completely redone on ebay would sell for about 2200.but the Fritz Hansen price is around 3900. depending on fabric,
