You might also check out the Asian museum
if only for the building and the staircase. It's in the former Barney's headquarters and the stylized interior architecture alone is worth the price of admission.
Barneys spent several million dollars on the interior, and almost as soon as it was completed, restructuring and mergers forced them to give up the space. The new tenant (Asian museum) changed very little, the space is that cool.

We just got real hard rain here in Oklahoma, but
my brother in Houston who lives in Memorial took a real hit with the trees, and no power but his in laws beach house on Galveston is all but a memory, 60 percent of the City gone,
One thing about Texans they have pride and are not cry babies, they knew it was bad and took the hit, and say we are alive and will rebuild and not screaming at the Federal government like some other Hurricane hit communities,

twa terminal
i'd at least be tempted to see saarinen's twa terminal building at the kennedy airport. i think it would be a treat just to walk around with a good cup of coffee and soak in the goodness for a while.
just one d.a.'s idea of fun!
