A friend of mine is just beginning her own interior design company. I'd love to get her a design "industry-related" gift for the holidays. What would you suggest? Perhaps a membership to a professional association? A gift card to a great gallery?

Arco... I love it...
At the moment in Europe it is fashionable to get very famous design classics like Taccia, Arco, and Taraxacum designed by Achille Castiglioni (manufactured by Flos), or the LC4 designed by Charlotte Perriand and Le Corbusier (manufactured by Cassina). I advise you to buy her one of these classics. At college we have Arco in one of the libraries, and I love it...
