Mondrian
Thank you Azure! I mainly curious about who/what Georges Briar was. If the book indicates about Mondrian short glasses, I'd be interested in knowing. I have a set of 4, always wondered if they were licensed or creative infringement.
Can post a pic if needed or just wanted.
LETS SEE:)
they list his patterns in 1956-67 catalogues: FORBIDDEN FRUIT is one...PICKLED PERSONALITY,another... 1970s barware...feather boquet, study in brown, military wedding...of course it lists dozens of others. No mondrian listed...Book is the best on BRIARD ive seenalso pics and info on BRASTOF,BELLAIRE,HIGGINS.Post a pic and I can look up the pattern...
I really enjoy Briard items
Always on the prowl for Briard pieces, but they are so hard to find in great shape! Mostly scuffed, scratched and so on. The one piece I have on display in my apartment is a serving dish that a person (who knows much more than me!) told me was possibly from his "Midas" line. (It was a steal at $2.99)
Thanks for the information on that book! I have been hoping there was a good reference book on Braird items out there! (Bonus for the Brastoff section as well!)
Thanks Azure... Now you...
Thanks Azure... Now you leave me with more questions!
So he went to Chicago... Is this where he later based his Georges Briard branded business?
Setag...I think its a whimsical piece. I don't quite "get it", but notice the King has two chalices? Needs prodding?
