I'm trying to buy a George Nelson side table. (diameter 43cm and 57cm high). All is original(no vitra) according to seller and inside the base is the logo from HM.
He asks 300euro but I'm not sure quite yet because for me the top of the table looks in a very very good shape for it's age... I'll receive some pictures with the logo today. Also I see a colour difference between the top of the table and the leg. In most pictures that I've seen, the colours match with each other.

Anyone an idea how I can...
Anyone an idea how I can spot if I buy a real or fake table? On the chairs there are marks on the bottom of the chair but are there any marks visible on a table?
Thanks

More images
I got some more pictures.
If I look at a different table I see that mine is white on the bottom of the plate and the other one is brown.
Can someona estimate the date of production of the one with the white bottom? The HM logo is also from the one with the white bottom, but has no sticker.
Thanks

It's a Vitra (Fehlbaum)...
It's a Vitra (Fehlbaum) table from the 70's (also known as Herman Miller International Collection).
Herman Miller USA Nelson tables never have the plywood / formica veneer tops. They use chipboard with a formica veneer.
Your table is missing the maple veneer edge.

Thanks for the information, I'm still interested in the table, but is it worth the 300euro he's asking for it?

Price is retail (with...
Price is retail (with service and warranty), so if you buying from a privat person I would not pay more then ?250.
This because of the missing veneer edge and color base versus color table top.

So this might be a fake...
So this might be a fake tabletop? Or can it be an original vitra tabel? Seller bought it 10 years ago and told me that it is a original herman miller table, no vitra and original parts.
Seller wants 400? but will agree with 300?. Prices on vitra are a lot higher (around 800).
Does vitra put a label on their tables?

No, it's not...
No, it's not fake.
Between 1957 and 1984 Fehlbaum (Vitra International) had a license of Herman Miller USA to produce and sell Eames and Nelson furniture in Europe. At some point also Hille (UK), Mobilier International (France) and Contura (Italy).
The products where branded with Herman Miller (International Collection) and at the end also or in combination with there own names. Early stuff with Fehlbaum and later with Vitra.
Yes Vitra brand the tables with a label.
Nelson tables with plywood table tops are always produced in Europe by Fehlbaum which is now known as Vitra. Please see pictures with a European table and USA table.
