I recently acquired this bench from my boss (he'd been named Successor Trustee of a friends Trust when his friend passed away). I originally took his offer of the bench because I simply liked the style. Now all my friends are filling my head with ideas of the bench being an original George Nelson piece. How can I tell for sure? And how much would an original Nelson bench like this be worth?

I appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Yugoslavia ??
Not sure who designed your bench/table, but i'm pretty sure it wasn't Nelson. I've seen a few benches/tables made just like yours that were stamped Yugoslavia. Most were selling from to $50 - $150, depending on length and condition. Apparently there was once a demand for mid-century knock-offs from Yugoslavia.

These kinds of benches were...
These kinds of benches were popular with DIY woodworkers back in the day. A simple straight forward design, and many '60s DIY furniture woodworking books gave blueprints to make them. Been to a few estate sales/auctions where the husband was a woodworker in the '60s, and made a bench or two similar to your bench.
