Hello I have two nelson contract benches. Which have the metal frames with wood slats table and cushions. One of the benches is just under 20 inches on the inside of the frame, and the other is 20 inches exactly. Does anyone know why there is a difference? I wanted to mix and match my components. They are pictured in the 1961 and 1962 catalogs as being 20inches? Please help.......

Herman Miller's measurements
were usually absolutely exact. Do you have pictures of these slat benches?

The difference in the two benches is one is 20 on the inside of the frame and one is 19 5/8" with the outside of the frame beign exactly 20inches. I do have pics if any wants to see them.
