I finally got the Nelson Vitra exhibition catalog/book today and first impressions - amazing.

There's a great "list of works", listing most of the Nelson Associates pieces, and they give the actually designer full credit.

Lots of cool obscure clocks, but I think they might have missed some. None of the Bitossi or Meridian clocks are listed, which makes me wonder if Nelson had much to do with them. I do think that the hands used by Howard Miller for those clocks were copyrighted designs owned by Nelson Associates, so there must've been some approval by Nelson.

At first glance, I didn't see the Carvel Hall serving pieces, but they might be there, somewhere.

All in all, an essential book (I got mine from Powell Books for $101.52 plus shipping, which is cheap but it took 22 days to get it....)

Language?
Isn't the book in German? Is there an English translation?

I got the US edition.
If you choose to use Powell Books to get the book, type in George Nelson and you'll see the red covered version in German. On the lower right, you'll see "other editions" and you'll be able to order the brown covered version in English.

The Carver Hall stuff is there
represented by a small hard to see photograph on page 308.

Some of the crazy stuff found in this book
is a matching sling table to go with the sling table (in two lengths)! I never ever knew that the sling sofa had a matching table, or was available in 2, 3 and 4 seat widths.
Amazing.
