I cant see how you have any case to point the finger. You said they where sold, sad to see them gone and defended yourself when the finger of advertising was pointed. If this is your way of running your business I think it is shady. The reason dealers dont have there names on here is becasue there is no advertising and I am not here to sell just learn, get info and shoot out sarcastic remarks. And beore you take the high moral ground about dealers stabbing each other ...thats how it is. And for the apology to all your customers who read the link all they will see is you throwing out names at people who have more knowledge than you.

A few general comments inspired by this thread.
We do not wish to judge this specific case because it is not obvious that REtroVIVE has deliberately used this thread to advertise his items. Even though, like many others, we do have this feeling. This is why, we have contacted him to thank him for using DA and invited him to use the Radar if he wanted to advertise his items for sale. But, please, let's give him the benefit of the doubt.
To answer to the wider problem of direct and indirect advertising on the forum, we have just created a specific thread. (see link below).

I have no sympathy for newbies who delete their posts because they find them frustrating or embarrassing. If I can leave the Mahog@ny Associ@tion thread, you can leave yours.

Just gave them what they wanted...
No advertising was ever implied or intended guys and girls, and I meant no insult to anyone.
I just wanted to show the chairs and ask advice for once!
Halfway through, someone decided to cast the 1st stone, followed by others unnecessarily?
I never intended to advertise, but I suppose suspicions arise due to regular abusive members on this forum, and was subsequently passed onto another completely innocent new user of this forum.
I take back any comments, it was early bells in the morning, and I woke up to see degrading, insulting and rather blatent accusations of advertising, as well as insults...
Apologies to all the oldies, I never meant this to get out of hand, I was genuinely sharing and asking for advice on the third chair.
I decided to remove the posts due to the above, not out of embarrassment.
On another note...

I apologise for going on the defense, I am new to this thread, and I meant no animosity to form between us, I really appreciate all your threads and comments etc...and love reading through this forum and wish to be a regular contributor.
Perhaps I overreacted, but what was said was not nice, or it at least seemed that way at the time. I guess I will have to warm up to your sense of humor! 😉
I will be careful HOW I share, but I assure you, no advertising was ever intended.
Thanks,
J

Hi Alix & Patrick...
Thank you for your email yesterday,
I apologise if I have misconstrued this, but no mention of not advertising was included in the email from yourselves as it appeared just to thank us for the post and comment on how nice the chairs were.
I feel if it were seen as advertising, you would have let me know politely and would have deleted the offending posts, comments or links if any.
Your email was of course received yesterday before the 1st stone was cast "This post smells of advertising..."
Once again, I apologise how this has gone, but there were several contributors and I was just acting on the defensive as I felt insulted as no bad intent or advertising was attempted.

Justin,
Sorry if our message was not clear enough but we wrote it before we knew that you were selling your items on ebay.
If we had known, we would have definitely warned you that you were not respecting the rules of the forum.
By the way, it's a bit strange to delete all your messages on one side, while on the other side, copying our private message to you.
