I have
1000 chairs, both volumes of 1000 lights, as well as "Midcentury Modern", a slew of Schiffer books spotlighting Herman Miller, McCobb and Knoll, as well as a wonderful book on Eva Zeisel, a book on Alexander Girard, a book on Sam Maloof, and bunch of other reference books and materials. Buy all of these books when I started to look for good midcentury modern design, sure helped me buy good pieces that were nearly all geniune and I got all of my pieces at good prices!
Sunset Books
One of my favorite sources of inspiration is almost any issue of the Sunset Books series from the '50s through the '60s. Some are better than others, but all of them include at least a few pages of awesome, authentic mid-century architecture and design. Below is my favorite in the series.
Nice haul of architecture...
Nice haul of architecture books and journals from the estate of a NYC architect. Early Yale Perspecta Architectural Journals (one with a signed letter from Serge Chermayeff), Lotus International and some nice mid century Architecture volumes. Not cheap-but some good rare stuff.
