That Ridgway "Homemaker" china pattern is pretty bizarre, when you think about it
I've seen it occasionally, it's probably far more common in the UK, where it was sold through Woolworths.
Strange motif for plates and coffee cups, I suppose it was popular because it allowed those with Woolworth budgets to live vicariously, the next-best thing to actually owning avant garde furniture themselves?
I don't know if I find this touching, or just stupid. A little of both, maybe!

This is my favourite design book, extraordinarily expensive when I got it but for designing in wood it can't be beat, a lot of the terminology is beyond me but it feaures everything from innovatove bridge and fire tower design to huge cuved roofs of Japanese stadiums, an encyclopeadia of connectiopn methods, if you're reading this SDR you'd love it.
