Howdy!
Am increasingly eager to lay hands on some of those blonde bentwood chairs Gehry did for Knoll in the early 90s. I've never sat in one, and I've heard they need rather a lot of regluing. But I wonder, are they at all comfortable? At all worth the expense?

Without any photos I assume you are speaking of these pieces. They are very nice. They were also available in black.

We've had some of them
We've had a few of the Gehry pieces. Never had an issue with them coming apart, though I've seen others that have. I suspect that a lot depends on the environment where they are kept (temperature, humidity, sun exposure).
We currently have a "Poweplay" lounge and ottoman. Like the other designs, it's not uncomfortable, but not a chair you want to relax in for long periods. It's closer to functional sculpture in some respects. I suspect your height, weight and personal preferences would dictate how comfortable the chair is to you.

Those more recently produced ...
Those more recently produced seem sturdier. Perhaps Knoll's opted for a hardier glue. Tell me, have you got the cushions? Do they do much to better the sitting?
