I just purchased a used Sapper tea kettle and after finally getting all of the hardened gunk off of the interior, I accidentally placed the kettle next to a kitchen cloth that melted and fused itself to the stainless steel exterior. Does anyone know how to remove these "fused" fibers? Can I used nail polish remover? Thanks!

Try putting it in the freezer
and then gently chipping the crud off.
If it's a thin smear, try the nail polish remover. Paint stripper might do it, too.

thanks, but it still there...
Tried nail polish remover but didn't work. I'm going to try Easy Off now, even tho that's for baked on grease. If you have any other suggestion, please lmk. Thanks!

update
What eventually worked was boiling the tea kettle in a larger pot filled with water and baking soda. I boiled the tea pot for 10 minutes, then let it simmer for another 10 minutes, took it out and used a blunt knife to scrape the melted fibers off and finished off with a non-scratching scrubbing pad.
