There is currently a "complete set" of Furniture Forum (Volumes 12-25) for sale on Ebay (NOT MINE). Starting price is $2,800.00 0r $200 per volume. Even for ex library, reference books this strikes me as a reasonable price. I'm a bit surprised there haven't been any bids yet.....I guess its big dollars for a set of books. Anyway, I thought the auction was worth a mention as its the first time I've ever seen this many volumes of FF assembled in one place. If I had the disposable income to drop 3K on a set of books, I'd snap them right up.....

Nice books. I especially like the designer bios. Other than that, I feel there's better publications for the money.

What period publications would you put ahead of Furniture Forum for furniture surveys? (not talking about specialized items like HM or Knoll catalogs) Hatje's "New Furniture"? The Nelson "Interiors Library" series? Wondering what else I should be hunting for 😉

It isn't so much putting ahead as it's largely a matter of personal value, and I'm very critical of book values so forgive me if you felt challenged. A good shopper can amass a book collection containing much the same info for the fraction of the price. Hatje's series are great books, as is Interiors. Domus is also chock full of delights. For Danish I like Jalk's 4 volume series. Have only read a few Mobilias and the UK's Design, nice magazines. Art & Architecure is fun to read, but I haven't gone through the entire series. Pass me you addy and I'll share a few others once I pull out my want list. Oh, don't forget used auction catalogs...I'm sure you can agree there are some interesting things not published elsewhere.

Woof, I actually have a nice size collection of design books, architecture books, interiors books, periodicals and auction catalogs.
Furniture Forum has always been high on my list though.....I wonder if its simply more about wanting what I don't have than it is about the books themselves?
Shoot me a message at my user name here @gmaildotcom..

I have 8 or 10 volumes of furniture forum and the most Ive paid is 80 dollars, I always make dealers lowish offers on them when they have them for sale and quite often they accept. Id love a full set but Im patiently putting it together at prices I can afford. 200 a pop is no bargain even though the seller has a nice run of them.

I have
the complete run through volume 12 and have had the opportunity to borrow the remainder for extended periods. After 12 or thereabouts the publication quickly becomes less strictly modern as we deal with it here. The later ones are filled with hybrid and more traditional and /or the revival style of the moment IIRC. The first dozen are gold, the rest have far too much unwanted stuff for me to justify shelf space for what little good is in there. Before anyone jumps, this is just my opinion.
