My friend ,who has been bugging me to help him find a kitchen set,just found a mega deal on Craigslist! Four original vintage (circa 60's-70's) Knoll/Saarinen Tulip chairs(non-swivel) with original upholstery, AND the Knoll /Saarinen 48" round Tulip table with heavy cast aluminum base in White formica, for,ready?? A grand total of $650!! Excellent shape,just needed cleaning,no major chips/gouges.Original cushions with original Knoll fabric.WOw-I'm jealous-took me years to assemble my set,and cost me nearly 3 times the money!!Started with the table and eventually added the chairs.He does ot all in one fell swoop,responding to a CL listing!! The guy was asking $750,and he bargained him down to $650. Amazing;just amazing,I tell you.

I gave up looking for a saarinen set and at a realistic price
I found 2 stools, 2 side tables and a coffee table over 5 years for next to nothing but no chairs or table

I deliver mail here in Maine. One of my customers has this set in their dining room, the only MCM decor in the cabin. This is a small summer cottage that they have not used in years, they let family use it from week to week. I keep waiting to see their car there so I can let them know that "if they ever want to sell that ugly set to let me know".
