Thats actually a dang nice bed, I like it a lot.
But I would be a little bit concerned about outgassing of in all that lamination, especially being so exposed to it for many hours at a time, of course it depends on the adhesive.
Something similar in solid?
Who is the designer and manufacturer?

It's...
Modernica.
A little too chunky for my taste, especially in the legs. And I think I hate the three sled runners at the foot of the bed.

it's rather nice, maybe the ends can indeed use some more refinement.
I like the cleopatra daybed, made by auping a lot. they 'updated' the design recently but lost a lot of its charm.

What an astonishing name for a daybed!
Cleopatra? Does it come with DVDs of the Claudette Colbert film, as well as the Liz Taylor versions?

Dutch design often got fancy names it seems. I think the explanation may lay in the commercial spirit of the people.

The back looks like the back of an Eames LCW no?

I prefer the way the the foot of the bed is resolved in the Cleopatra.
In the vintage Auping ad, the bed is shown without a headboard... and with a headboard, but the legs & base are also quite different on the two versions. Strange.
Are those custom linens on the Modernica day bed? I don't quite understand how they managed to achieve the perfect hospital corners.
These day beds are beautiful, but they require world-class bed-making skills.

What stuck me about this bed...
What stuck me about this bed was the reinterpretation of existing forms. The most obvious being the Eames molded plywood line. Over examination one could see Paul McCobb and even the masculinity of Latin American designs like Jorge Zalszupin.
The Cleopatra is nice...more delicate presentation. Mattress seems wedged in between the head & foot.

honestly
I don't like this bed. So not original. Obviously trying really hard to incorporate specific MCM designs. WHy can't modernica just do their own thing?
