I thought this post was going to be about Franzen's new novel or maybe about Oprah, but glad I took a look anyways. I had a late 60s Schwinn Stingray when I was a kid, put a blue slick on the back and left my mark all over town.
Also reminded me of that great Ross Brockley bit (of Holiday Inn commercials fame). Dialogue went something like:
* I've been working on a new book called "When The Wheels Come Off."
# Oh, is it one of those self-help books ...?
* No, it's about a bike.
