I am surprised to find no mention of this man at Design Addict. Fifteen years ago I was shown a copy of "Modern Cabinetmaking in Solid Wood" (1980) and was not able to put it out of mind, though I had managed to forget the name.

Now I see a second book, more recent in publication:

This one can be perused online (thanks, Amazon) so one gets a picture of the accomplishments. At the end of the book is a list of the cabinetmakers who executed the work; it is likely that these are students of Mr Karg.
The price of this second volume is sinking fast; on Friday it was 24 cents and today it is down to 21 ! This makes up for the healthy number placed on the earlier book . . .
I find the devotion to solid wood entirely justified here, given the very hight standard of both design and construction detailing. The photos in both books are accompanied by excellent drawings, which alone would bring the designing cabinetmaker much joy, it seems to me . . .
