Just recently realized she was still living. She retired from Knoll in 1962 - Her company is bigger than ever - Irving Harper, and Jens Risom are active nowadays - even in their 90's. Why has she stayed out of the public? Is she reclusive? It seems like she would have requests for interviews, etc in the past 10 years as MCM has exploded - yet nothing. So strange.
Old bones need some rest........
by the way thank you for choosing something interesting to post about cuz lately it's a goonberry festival in the forum.
Old Schu gave a rare interview to Metropolis magazine awhile back as she turned over her KNOLL archive to the Smithsonian. Mrs. Knoll-Bassett became political and had a desire to chill and leave the design game to the young guns.
Look for the article it's worth reading.
Hans Knoll death had to be hard on the old girl........
