I'm going to purchase the Malm bed from IKEA in Birch and would like to have some floating nightstands in the same finish. I want something like a simple shelf, cube or rectangular box. I've been searching to no avail. Does anyone have any pics or DIY ideas? Thanks!

Thanks for responding Olive. I thought about that and thought it was a great idea but the smallest shelf is 2 feet long. If I hung one on each side of the bed I wouldn't have enough room.
Why not get the attachable...
Why not get the attachable nightstands that are made specifically for the Malm? If I remember specifically they "float" off the sides of the bed.
