I am looking to replace my current flatware (knife, dinner fork, salad fork, teaspoon and soup spoon) and matching service pieces. Naturally, something modern, I am looking for suggestions and or photos or websites if you have em. I understand Alessi has some interesting stuff, I haven't seen it yet though as we pretty much decided to switch this evening after dinner. Thank you all in advance for what I'm sure will be wonderful suggestions.

Alessi Nuovo Milano Stainless Flatware
I've used this pattern for 20 years. I like the weight and the feel of the pieces in my hand.

The very best...
contemporary cutlery designer is without any doubt David Mellor. But we have used Mono's cutlery by Peter Racke for the last 35 years or so and I still enjoy it each and every time. I would also look at Carl Pott's designs and recently Stelton has taken into production the former lines from Norsk Stalpress,(later Norstaal) some with slight improuvements others as is. Amoung them Tias Eckhoff's bestseller "Maya". With Wegner's chairs it was "the" most common feature of every "design conscious" American home in the late sixties and early seventies.

my personal favorite
I searched for quite some time for flatware I liked before I found/bought this Erik Magussen designed set from Stelton. All matters of taste being personal, I could not be happier with this set!
Now if anybody knows where I can get some of the (unfortunately) discontinued serving untensils.....

I suggust the Auerhahn flatware from Germany. i purchased mine two years ago in brushed steel. Their timeless design and qualityexpectation is just great.

bump
I'm having a flatware dilema.
Some of my favorites are way out of my price range.
And i need service for twelve with a dozen extra forks and spoons.
(a member of the house takes them to work never to be seen again)
This set from Belgium struck me as unusual and extra service is available.
Not sure about the thin handles.
Still kinda sexy.
