I had this for over a year, and never was able to find out anything about it. Trying desperately to downsize, I sold it about a week ago with a large mixed lot of stuff on Craigslist. Today I spotted one online, and learn that it is Gli Etrushi for Raymor. Ebay value of these fishes that got away, about $155.

Are those nails
or wood, or ceramic? It's a great piece. Thanks for sharing and sorry it got away.

I believe the spines had to have been made of a metal wire, as they were too strong to have been anything else. They seem to have been fired with the piece, and coated with a glaze or slurry of some kind, which was fired onto them.

Just realized that over the summer, I was at a yard sale with a white tufted leather sofa that seemed vaguely interesting. It was marked for $350.00 but had a sold tag.....no great loss because I probably wouldn't have purchased it. Next weekend, I saw it in a local antique store for @$1,250.00 which made me chuckle a bit. Now I realize it was the same sofa as the John Vesey sofa that sold at Wright this past year for $55,000.00

Here's me when I worked in a hotel in Northampton about 15 years ago. I didn't really notice the dining sets back then. Bugger.

If its any consolation Jesgord its not pretty and the buttoning looked a bit poor, but I'm sure its not, 50K!
I discovered yesterday that my sofa (which I've too often crowed about) sold on Lauritz for a grand total of 40 euros, but I still love it, just a little less now that I know its not the money in the bank I thought it was.

It still irks me....that said, I did very well when I sold the Vesey chairs below. One Vesey score per lifetime seems reasonable.

A room full of tulips
look divine even in a most "challenging atmosphere", as is the case here. My god.
Best,
Aunt Tulip
ps I think that the napkins are what is throwing the decor off.

@huge leg your user name scares me... in other news, that many tulip tables & chairs in one place is ridiculous. They are probably in a landfill now...

Landfill
I bought a dozen Burke chairs a few years ago from a guy who had taken the table to the scrapyard, I imagine this has happened to plenty of Knoll chairs and tables too, scrappers just see the metal parts and the pittance they'll get at the yard-
Thinking about this is raising my blood pressure.

I went fishing today
and brought home a 40 inch tall fish vase...and I'm probably going to re- donate it back to the local charity thrift that I purchased it from, as I'm not sure that I really care for it. Note to self...never shop thrift stores whilst buzzed.
Thoughts?
Aunt Mark

I'm
torn by it also. I like the fish...but it's a little busy, the top is odd and boy is it big. If it were 6" tall it'd be great.
Also, that green is really common with recent Chinese ceramics, so it has that association for me, no fault of it's own

I say
Just stick some peacock feathers in it.
Isn't buzzed thrift store shopping what life is all about?
