This house (featured in the nice slideshow) must be good for one's health. Nothing in it wants to call attention to itself and yet every object has a strong soul; each object out of the way and nearly coincidental in how it all plays well together. This house is like poetry to me. There is a respect for manner of living here that is a lesson in space. This is a house I would chose to buy furnished, as-is.

Maybe someone has some other accomplished examples of domestic interiors he can point to?

Juhl's wife, music publisher...
Juhl's wife, music publisher Hanne Wilhem Hansen, has recently sold the house and all its inventory to a private buyer who then thankfully donated it to the state of Denmark. The famous museum of Ordrupgaard (partly designed by Zara Hadid), which lies very close nearby, will open it as a museum in the spring of 2008 after a full restoration.

looks quite cold, all that...
looks quite cold, all that light allows for so much potential with the given space. The garden space also has alot of potential for artist freedom. Some interesting Compositions, though to me looks distant and clinical. Alot of potianal in fundamental ideas.

Use of Color
The use of color in the house is absolutely stunning. I love the contrast of the woods and the neutral upholsteries with the littls splashes of teal, orange, gold. Really really amazing!

I especially like the tea pot...
Formally, the guy just has fabulous antennae. His integration of color is less stellar. The green dining room chairs work effortlessly, but the rainbow drawers are just plain awkward within the context of the room.

Just a glance; looks COLD?
Sure you took a right LOOK?
Excuse the pun.
I find that home anything but clinical.

house for sale?
So the house and furnishings were for sale... Do you know if 100% of that was sold as a comprehensive package?
With regard to those drawers on the little cabinet, I think that one is just a treasure. If anyone knows one for sale I would appreciate the link.

It is not one...
of the nicest "designer" houses I have seen, but that comment is just about the exterior. The inside is certainly in the great Danish tradition of wonderfull selections of objects in a general athmosphere of modesty. I have to disagree with DCWilson on the coloured drawers. The ones that are part of the wall shelving system are all shades of blue and blue, especially the somewhat darker "danish" blue is very much part of the architectural tradition. The more colorful cabinet on wheels is not seen in the right context. The picture shows it open but it closes pivoting around the central pole. It is intended as a surprise. Normally you see a rather conventional Danish cabinet and when needed you open it to discouver these careful gradations of primary colours. I think it is a nice idea. On one hand you do not have to look at it all the time, but when yoy feel like it you open it.
I was surprised to discouver that Finn Juhl's furniture, which I always thought of as being a touch too elegant, works very well as long as the rest is understated.
Thank you for showing it....for me it is reason nr. 476 to visit Denmark!!

Room606, every article I've...
Room606, every article I've read about this house says that the house was sold as a full package. The buyer's name is Birgit Lyngbye Pedersen. Though exactly how the purchase was made, I have no idea. I do know that the house was not found worth preserving by the state and so rumors said that the house would be torn down and the empty land sold while the interior would end up on auction. I'm thrilled to see that this little pearl will be taken care of in the future.
Dcwilson, the teapot is a prototype for Bing & Grøndahl (B&G) that sadly never went into production.
I will be visiter #1 when this house opens, that's for sure. I fully agree with koen that the house itself is not special at all, but to see all the original interior still present in the house of such a famous designer is a very rare treat indeed. I admire him so much.
Lately, a fond called Realea has purchased two of Arne Jacobsen's family houses, including his own at Bellevue, and they will also be open to the public two times a year. I was at the first opening some months ago and people were standing in line 200 meters down the road. Crazy.
