LAMA currently has the following chair (the one in color) in its upcoming auction which they attribute as follows:

Lot 416
Finn Juhl, attributed
Armchair
Possibly France & Sons, designed circa 1953
30h x 26.5w x 28d
$1,500 - 2,000

Does anyone know if this chair is actually Juhl? I have a pair that I got at a yard sale several years ago and unfortunately, they have no markings. My best guess was that they are chairs modeled after the Juhl chair below?

As an aside, the caning also reminds me of Børge Mørgensen's sled chairs

Sidenote/correction
That goes for the black and white photo you just showed. I was just comparing the two and the chair in the color photo is slightly different in several aspects. I actually like the color one a lot better

Jesgord, you could ask them...
Jesgord, you could ask them what reference materials they used to assign attribution. I too saw this, certainly does have Juhl elements. Arne Vodder also came to mind, however I find that his stuff tends to have a little more flair.

I have sent LAMA an email. ...
I have sent LAMA an email. I suspect they are basing their "attribution" on the general physical appearance of the chair.....but you never know. Will let you know what they say.

My question: ...
My question:
Hello,
I'm wondering if you could tell me the source(s) for the Finn Juhl attribution of this chair? Are you relying upon any publications or just general appearance?
Their answer:
Just general apperance. We listed it as "attributed" because we could not confirm this.
Sincerely,
Shannon
Always amazes me that legitimate auction houses will make "attributions" based simply upon general appearance.

There's one here:
it's sold, but they are nice people, they'll probably tell you how they came about their attribution

The
general profile, constructional parti, and shape of the front legs are the only things these two chairs have in common, possibly excepting the wood specie. In every other way they differ: shape of arms, including front projection; shape of back; form of rear legs including upward extension; material of seat.
You may quote me.
