They simply bite the dust one day
I remember getting their cool catalog, but like DWR, they were never aggressive about providing their customers products of quality not found elsewhere.
By the way, Unica Home DOES have some cool exclusives, unlike Hive Modern, Retomodern or Highbrow.
However, I called Unica long distance and asked about the Nelson Vitra book and the person I spoke to was absolutely horrible, indifferent and not at all helpful.
Go figure.
Thats the problem
Thats the problem with a lot of these places - they try to stock everything, but don't know anything. They put up some pretty pictures, copy the manufacturers description, and stock the phone bank with "customer service reps" who don't know anything about the actual product. And of course it must be maddening for them to deal with anyone who's ever read from this forum. 🙂
The few times I called
Hive Modern, they were swell. I bought my large square Eames work table from them.
Highbrow were real nice and knowledgable too; I bought a pair of Knoll Beroia yellow seat pads from them.
It's just like; when you call Herman Miller, you get nice knowledgable people. When you call Knoll or Vitra, you get clueless people who have better things to do than to take your call.
Go figure.
FUP bit the dust well before I started having the dough to buy furniture...but their catalog WAS nice.
