Listed at 1.65 million now,...
Listed at 1.65 million now, down from well over 2 million plus.
Lots of great houses on the market now in the USA, in a slumping or slightly post-slumping housing market. The listing linked here, the Xeros house in Pheonix, for example, is at $900,000.

1.65 M
Might as well be 100 million to me. I bought my modern dream home on a shoestring budget with government support. God bless the pinkos who help poor little creatives like myself. God bless America.

Xeros House
is only about two-thirds the size that that ad says it is.
Fortunately, the asking price is also around two-thirds of what that ad says it is.

It's also around 80 degrees...
It's also around 80 to 100 degrees year round in the 2000 square foot Arizona house versus the one in Illinois, but who's counting.
Taxes: less.
Price: going down.

Btw, do any of you Design...
Btw, do any of you Design Addicts watch House Hunters (I think that is what it is called). Karen records it, so I don't pay much attention.
I was disheartened by the fact that I rarely picked the residence the househunters finally choose (as in, you ninnies, how could you possibly pick that one!!!) until I learned that the buyers sometimes don't see the other homes in the televised cue until after they have already bought their place.
That said, I want the Xeros house.
I will also need to win the lottery tonight, no matter what the price.

I am an avid House Hunters watcher. Not many spectacular houses, but you get to see how America lives and house hunt vicariously through the TV. And no, they never pick mine either.

It's still amazing to me...
It's still amazing to me [and it most assuredly shouldn't be] to watch/consider how many House Hunters several hundred thousand dollar house homes are presumably picked on the basis of an interior paint color or an above average bathtub.
We like mostly to watch the international episodes, of which the homes/condos/etc are also so often chosen on the basis of color or some other very changeable factor.
Bad thinking/bad taste, I'm beginning to think, may be universal.

I like the International one...
I like the International one best too. Only because it's more interesting to see homes in other cultures. But all in all it's all the same across the globe. The main thing I see them pick homes for on the International one is the view ... because often it's vacation homes by the water. I get that. You can't change the view. The other thing is the furniture, because in some of the island locales its hard ($$$) to change that out.
