Richard Sapper Kettle
i loved the look of this kettle & the 2 tone whistle but having bought it discovered that it's impossible to pick the damned thing up without an oven glove because the handle gets so bloody hot

that Tizio
Stephen
Doing a search, I just read your comments on Tizio lamps and I could not agree more with you, I am experiencing all too often those demoralising incidents with the three I have. However, I need some parts to fix two of them and I can’t find anybody in Sydney that has them, so I would much appreciate if you send me the contact details of the lighting specialist so I can get the parts. Send to fjl@bigblue.net.au. Thanks
Cheers

Hi LuciferSum
Historically you are right of course. They were designed for the Spanish royal couple and for a few minutes of use only...but. Mies v.d.Rohe is partially to blame for the rest of the history to. He did not only allow the Barcelona to go in production, he also promoted the product by drawing it into a number of interiors. I do not know if the thickening of the cushions by Knoll (they even went as far as replacing the cushions of the one in the MoMA collection) was an acknowledgement of the known lack of confort, but the fact is that one can not use the original function as an exuse when so many efforts to make it in larger quantities were initiated by the designer.
