I picked this up on craigslist the other day (along with a lcw) for $225. I got really excited when I saw the tag (see pic). I saw the word evans and knew it was old, but don't know much more about the chair. Obviously it has been refinished. Any way to clean the rust off of the legs? Any other thoughts about its age or value?

In a good economy this could fetch as high as $800. In this economy...not so much. For age - if it's marked Evans that means its between 1946 and 1949.
As to the rust on the legs - start with 0000 steel wool and some elbow grease, and it should clean up just fine. Just out of curiousity - why so interested in selling? The LCW and the DCM both make great chairs.
I don't think I will sell...
I don't think I will sell them, but I am starting to get a little too much eames in my house. If I had to sell one, it would be the lcw because it doesn't match the rest of my furniture as well.
I just wanted to know what my new treasure was worth... that's all. thanks
