Did anyone see her brand new line of beautiful white everyday dinnerware?
Made by Royal Stafford, sold at Bloomingdale's.
Maybe not but
I saw it at the Bloomingdale's in the Mall of America and I thought the stuff was very nice. It's very hard fired and isa supposed to me dishwasher and microwave safe - although why in the hell would anyone put a nice dish in the microwave is beyond me.
Also, it's really amazing that Zeisel at 101 would still be designing.
I hope she wins a good design award...
Lord Help Me
Lord help me that I'll still be producing anything by the time I'm 101! I do love Eva's ceramics - such a sensual exploration of rhythm and repetition and the contrasts between volume and concavity. If I didnt have to clutzy roommates I'd love some of her pieces.
As for the coffee table...Its a little girly - even for my tastes. I dont think its a bad design, and this photo certainly is much more appealing than the head-on shots on DWR's webpage. There is a lovely playfulness about it and the fact that its a coffee table, kind of like the way Nelson plays with the idea of clocks. Like noguchi she has completely re-imagined the supports on which the glass should sit. Again, not saying I'd own it- but I dont dismiss it either.
