Dear Design Addicts,
I have been a DA forum lurker for a while, and today I hope that you can help me. A while ago, we inherited a table lamp - see picture below. The base is very solid and heavy (teak?), about 24" tall. While moving the lamp recently, I noticed that it is stamped at the bottom - "Made in Denmark" and "Ernst Henriksen" (see second picture). I have tried searching for this name, but other than a couple of links to old auctions, I have come up empty. I am not interested in selling the lamp, as it is a cherished object for us, but would like to find out more about when and where it was made, etc. I will add that it was likely purchased in the US in the 60's, but I am not sure.
Would anyone know anything about Ernst Henriksen? Any info would be appreciated - thanks!

I guess no one has any info - but I'll drag the post up again anyway...
Maybe somebody can give me a tip as to where to search?

These lamps were said to be handmade and not two were alike. I've got one that has different form. Beautiful lamps my guess is late 50s.

I recently picked up this set of rosewood candle holders by Ernst Henriksen. For a small set - they are rather well made and I quite like the simple design.
Your lamp is very nice - I've seen others posted online. But I haven't been able to find much info on the designer...

Wade - thanks for your comment! I had given up on finding out more info on this lamp, but maybe too soon? I would love to see your lamp.
AMF - I like those square candle holders. Occasionally, I've seen coaster sets and other wood items by Henriksen for sale on eBay - unfortunately usually going for a lot more than I'm able to pay.

Catfish,
I have searched the web and all of my Mid-Century design & reference books for years looking for any information on Ernst Henriksen with no luck. I do know that askArt.com is trying to generate a bio for Ernst Henriksen so hopefully someone with knowledge of his life and career responds to their forum someday. I have collected a couple of Ernst Henriksen pieces over the years but I would still like to add a free-form lamp similar to yours to my collection. Here is a couple pics of what I have collected.

Hi Peruche,
Thanks for posting your pictures!
I absolutely love those coaster sets - where did you find them, if I may ask?
I'm glad to see there are more of us, Henriksen fans 🙂

Catfish,
The lamp & bull coaster set I purchased at different auction galleries. The puffer fish coaster set I purchased on Ebay. I love your free form lamp and I am actively looking to purchase one. When one surfaces from someone's private collection to the open market I'm going to be right there to try and buy it.
