Hi all,

I'm after a bit of help with regards to the original colours for an Ercol Desk. The one I've picked up is much darker than the ones I have seen before (see image). Does anyone know if Ercol did darker stains, similar to an Oak finish? It doesn't look like mine has been stained by an amature, as areas such as the underside of the drawers are also stained, hence the confusion.

Yes
they also produced a darker finish than the light elm.

I don't suppose...
... you would know what that colour/stain was? Oak?
It needs a bit of 'touching up' so I'd like to get the right stain

as far as I can see the colours are as they always were, with possibly a couple of new additions.

Yes
Golden Dawn and Light Elm were the most popular stains when the desks were in their heyday.
The desks remain a very popular piece!
