I just got my Embody today and after unpacking noticed a small bump in the fabric, on the seat near the front edge. Should this be sent back or just to be expected? It sticks out like there is a pound coin embedded under the fabric ;(

Perhaps there IS a coin embedded in the fabric!
I don't own this chair, but I can't imagine that a coin-like lump is intentional.
Can this lump be seen and felt with normal use, or are you over-scrutinizing your new chair and giving the cushion an exhaustive breast exam? 🙂
Call Herman Miller--

I gave the chair a once over...
I gave the chair a once over with my tongue but the bump is very obvious just by sight. I guess I best call them up and wait another 4 to 6 weeks for them to build another one!

Something ain't right with that
No chair should have an apparent lump/bump like that! There was a gaff at the factory,so insist you want a perfect chair-why should you have to settle? Where's the quality control these days??

Yes--
It is my qualified opinion that you definitely have a bump.
Quel drag. I'm sure you were eager to use the chair already. Maybe Herman Miller will speed up a replacement, since they let you down like this.

Why not
return it to the place you brought it and get a new chair?

That flaw may settle...
or it may not. A shame that a factory oversight should
put you through the stress of return.
It isn't an apparent misted stitch or puncture.
Most fabrics have a memory and return, but this seems to have
found a long term 'push' and has settled there?
Unfortunate.
On a vintage piece someone may offer some solutions.
Your situation is unacceptable.
It is a custom order isn't it?
I should be perfect.
