I would try a much thinner metal rod with no grooves and a thicker, round top (perhaps even wooden ... or laminate).

No doubt the material of choice looks different then the chair. However i had 16ft of rebar with no use in mind.
I didn't have an eifel chair when i built this table, I printed out pics from different angles and went from there .Got two chairs now the table really works well with all the steel in my living room.

Knockoff? The table or the Kubus sofa/barcelona chair? All my mid-century stuff is fake. Paid $250.00 for the chair w/ ottoman. No vinyl, looks great im happy.

I am leaning
toward liking the little rebar side table if I had a loft apartment in Soho. It has character, and, yes, it is a knockoff of the Eiffel, but in an "outside the box" sort of way.
The other picture of the Barcelona is too small for me to grasp what he has done. Is it really nasty?

AmerLux,
I am confused. Are you saying that you made that Barcelona chair knockoff yourself? If you did, my compliments on your upholstery skills.
The coffee table, on the other hand, is not my cup of tea.

Bridge design
I like the attempt you made with the coffee table. I'd definitely be interested to see any new creations in the future.
