I recently bought an Egg Chair (it is a replica i admit but i cant fault it.. thank you to Mojo Interiors)
Now i LOVE my chair immensely, however was slightly taken a back when a friend of mine visited and informed me they had "eaten a big mac on one of them chairs on Saturday"....Has anyone seen them - are they the real thing???

haha dont be so cynical!
It's the only company i have used as i am fairly new to a)having th cash to splash on fab furniture and b)to have any opinion about....I am checking out others too though so will definitely give those a mention once opinion is formed....dont know about you but i have found this site very useful for info purposes and dont see any harm in spreading the word...
I remember............
I remember reading about this recently. From what I recall, Fritz Hansen and McDonalds struck a deal to supply furniture, including the Egg chair. It transpired that Fritz Hansen got wind of them installing counterfeit versions in some of their restaurants and promptly stopped delivery of all furniture to the group as FH will not tollerate reproduction of their furniture in any way shape or form. The cost to them is millions in lost revenue, but hey, what price authenticity? You can read it in the telegraph here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtml?xml=/money/2007/10/09/cnmcd1...
Mc.Donalds
As I had understood it, Mc.Donalds was trying to reinvent their image as a high(er) scale dining experience. To me this seems as effective as the time they tried to reinvent themselves as 'healthy' by offering salads. Personally I'm glad Fritz pulled out of the deal when the clown went fake - it would only have brought down the brand identity of Fritz Hansen products.
Nicola, you should save your ca$h and get the real thing - you'll love it 100 times more - and the investment will pay off in the long run . I poked around Mojo's website and sure enough - at least 4 instances of photos stolen from the websites of various dealers of authentic pieces. Shameless.
