I wonder if anyone can help me? I believe I may have one of the original 1958 egg chairs that were in the SAS building. I can't be sure though because I have no provenance documentation (my ex-wife, who is an interior designer, bought it for me 9 years ago, and was assured it was original). It certainly looks it, but I am unsure.
You can see my chair on the link provided.

Room 606
In all the photos in the book 'Room 606 : SAS House & the Works of Arne Jacobsen' the Egg is shown in various fabrics. Dark for the lobby, light blue for the rooms, and some light textured fabrics for some of the dining. However, on page 211 as the development of the egg chair is discussed the text reads: "At the SAS House, the Egg was covered with leather or woven fabric and joined by a hand-stitched seam that served as the only ornamentation."
But, all of the photos taken at the time the hotel opened show the chairs sans seat cushions. Make of that what you will!
In either instance your chair is a stunning example!
