According to this website by UC-Berkley Architecture Professor Ron Rael, half the world's population, about 3 billion, lives and/or works in structures made of earth. This is an important web site IMHO. The link below takes you there.

Check out the magnificient Ctesiphon Arch made out of unfired, mud bricks in 400 AD (75 feet wide and 110 high). Yeah, the St. Louis arch is a little bigger, but will it be standing 1500 years from now?

This web site has interesting earth architecture categorized by location. Good stuff.

If you're not already fimilar, I introduce you to Shibam...also know as the Manhattan of the Middle East. An ancient city of earth located in Yemen. Quite a fascinating history. Link after picture.
